If you’re interested in working together, the first few steps of the process will usually look something like this:

  • Send me an email, providing info about:

    • The nature of the project

    • The kind of editorial support you’re looking for (which will often depend on what stage the manuscript is at: book proposal, post-peer review, etc.)

    • The timeline (when you’d be interested in starting editorial work and when you’d like the project to be complete)

  • I’ll respond, and if I have availability and the project seems like a good fit, we can set up a phone/Zoom conversation to establish shared expectations, work out a set of next steps, and talk about:

    1. Project scope

    2. Timeline

    3. Budget

  • We begin work.

Rates

I charge an hourly rate, and offer discounts for authors who have less access to institutional resources.

Before beginning work on a project, the author and I discuss the scope of the work and the available budget. I provide estimates for the budget and timeline, and I am always happy to adjust the scope of my work so as to stay within an author’s budget.
